part of the Lot, is rich with artists, potters, craftsmen and glass blowers.
Gavin Bell is a potter and painter. He has a pottery shop in Cajarc with a
pottery studio behind and is always willing to let visitors get their hands
dirty. Indeed, Bellfrance now offer pottery
courses.
Gavin has been an art teacher for many years and often mentors students right
in his Cajarc studio. Pop into the shop and say hi or look out for him at
one of the craft fairs.
Another Lot artisan is located in the nearby market town of Gramat. Francoise
is a true genius with fabrics.
Her work is delicate
and complex. She makes original designed clothes as well as fabric art pressed
between two sheets of glass. Her boxes made of pleated fabric are quite extraordinary.
Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're in search of a unique gift.
